SUMP PUMPS & BATTERY BACK UP SYSTEMS

Gordon Energy has been the #1 sump pump installer in Kansas City for years. We install sump pumps for the majority of the home builders in the Kansas City area. We pride ourselves on our next day service and our ability to quickly & professionally install your sump without trouble so you can keep the building process moving. The sump pump is technically part of the drain tile system. Let the experts do the job right. Let the plumbers do what they know best and leave the sump pump to us. Here is what we do as part of any sump install or service.
  • We clean out the sump pit. Debris in the pit can easily clog the pump intake.
  • Our floats have internal “air activated” switches so there are no moving parts that can be obstructed which can burn up the pump or prevent it from coming on
  • We caulk the hole where the pipe goes through the house
  • Bracket the pipe to the foundation wall
  • Use a high quality “Silencer” PVC check valve. This check valve has a dual valve system and operates much quieter than many on the market. We do not use the flimsy rubber check valves some of our competition uses
  • 1 year parts & labor warranty from the date of the house closing
  • Next day service for new installs and normal repair work
  • 24 hour/7 day hotline for emergency sump pump repair. If you have such an emergency call (913) 764-6229 and follow the emergency service call prompts.
Kansas City Sump Pump Installation: Our standard duty sump is our energy efficient Little Giant ES-33.Even though it is energy efficient it does give up anything on performance. This pump is still able to pump 2400 gallons per hour (PGH) at 10’ of head. This pump also has an effluent capability of handling 3/8” solids. This could help the pump discharge small rocks & dirt without damage to the pump. We also carry the Little Giant ES40 for extreme cases where the water table is high or you have an underground spring nearby. This sump pump will pump 3600 GPH at 10’ of head. For certain homeowners you might also consider having us install a battery backup sump pump. Our best recommendation for most home homeowners that have a high risk basement is with our StormPro 2100 battery backup sump pump. This battery backup sump pump will help protect you in the case of a power outage, mechanical failure, or if the primary pump becomes overwhelmed. We would be happy to discuss any of our products or services with your homeowner to help them make the right choices so they can protect their basement.

Regular Sump

We use our Little Giant ES33D sump pump for most installs. At 2400 gallons per hour at 10’ head it has plenty of capacity for all, but the most extreme situations. It has an internal float so there are no moving parts such as a float that can get stuck. It is also capable of pumping 3/8” solids such as small dirt & gravel that may enter the draintile system. It is also very efficient by drawing only 5.0 full load amps. Much lower than the industry average. (more specs on this pump)
Premium

For extreme situations where you need very high pumping capacities our Little Giant ES40 should be able to handle it. It will pump 3600 gallons per hour at 10’ of head. It is the bigger brother of the ES33D so it has many of the same features. It uses the same internal float, is energy efficient and can handle solids up to 2”. (more specs on this pump)
Strom Pro

Gordon Energy highly recommends a battery backup sump pump if your basement is finished & your sump pump is the only thing stopping ground water from entering your house. Our Storm Pro 2100 will pump 2100 gallons per hour at 10’ of head. (more specs on this pump)

FOUNDATION CRACK REPAIR

Foundation Crack
All concrete cracks and when a crack develops in your basement wall that may lead to a water leak. Depending on the situation crack repairs may need to be made from the inside or the outside of your basement, or both.We have many products at our disposal for repairing a basement crack. One of our experts can diagnose your problem and recommend the best product for your specific needs. Often time crack repairs are needed near the house closing time or shortly after the homeowner has moved in We of course have next day service and understand the significance of getting the job done right and quickly and easing homeowner concerns. If the homeowner is present we always discuss with them that cracks are a natural part of the concrete settling process. We will convey to the homeowners that this should not be perceived as a quality concern with their new home. Below are some of our common products & services.

  • Hydrofoam Polyurethane Crack Injection
Our repair of choice for cracks is an injection from the inside with a flexible Polyurethane product. We use a product manufactured by the company Polygem, Inc. called Hydrofoam. The advantage to the flexible material is that if your wall and the crack continue to move, this product will move with it up to 1/16” . We have a 2 year warranty on all Hydrofoam crack injections.
  • Epoxy Injections
Epoxy adds strength to your wall. Often times epoxy will be recommended by a structural engineer. We use the Polygem Maximum Penetrating Injection Epoxy # 1001. This type of epoxy comes in 4 different viscosities depending on the width of the crack.
  • Outside Crack Repairs
We can repair the crack from the outside with several different available products that would depend on the situation. We first expose the crack and clean the wall. We then seal the crack with Tremco’s TremProof 201/60 heavy duty waterproofing. It is a liquid that dries to a 60 mil sheet of rubber. We also will use a peel and stick waterproofing membrane such as Bituthene 3000 or Polyguard 650 Membrane. Once the crack is successfully sealed we need to insure good drainage around the crack. We will fill the excavation cavity with gravel and a draintile pipe allowing drainage to your footing & draintile system. (if the home has a drain tile system)

SEEDING (HYDRO SEEDING OR DRILL SEEDING)

Gordon Energy offers Hydro-Seeding, Drill Seeding, Broadcast Seeding & Matting. We have the resources and buying power to get the exact blend of seeding materials to meet your requirements. We are experienced with the common seeds such as fescue, blue grass, K-31, etc. as well as specialized native seeding. We have several crews and the equipment to do multiple jobs at once. We have even specially mounted lights on our seeders for available 24 hour seeding to accommodate you during the short seeding window of time.

Hydroseeding is a proven method for establishing blends and mixes of seed. Seed, fertilizer, mulch, soil conditioner, and tackfier are combined with water and placed in our hydroseeding equipment. When all ingredients are thoroughly mixed, the slurry is sprayed over the prepared site. A green "mat" covers the newly seeded area. That's the hydromulch, and it performs these 3 valuable functions.
  1. Moisture Retention: Seeds are kept moist because hydromulch retains 10-15 times its weight in water. Water is the key ingredient for a quicker and thicker seed establishment.
  2. Erosion Control: Wind and water erosion can prevent satisfactory results. Hydromulch "blankets" the area and helps to prevent these problems from occurring.
  3. Seed Protection: Hydromulch helps maintain soil temperature and protects young seeds from the scorching sun. It forms an almost perfect micro-climate for maximum germination. As your seeded area becomes established, the hydromulch will gradually decompose and disappear.
Drill seeding is an agricultural process complete with a tractor and a specialized seeding attachment called a drill. The drill uses a mechanical mechanism to place seed in the soil. The depth of the seed can be regulated as well as the rate of application.

Because drill seeding uses no wood/fiber mulch in the process the cost is generally 1/2 or even less. Drill seeding is advantageous on larger areas, more level areas and projects where obtaining adequate water to hydro-seed exist.

Drill seeding is not an inferior method of seeding. Let us advise you on your particular project.
