See Green With Hydroseeding
This spring, the April showers have brought more than just May flowers to the Kansas City area. They’ve also brought beautiful green lawns to area properties. The mild winter and recent rainfalls have combined to bring one of the most colorful springs in recent history, and locals are enjoying every minute!
For some property owners, though—especially business owners who have undergone recent construction projects or property damages—they may be staring at a brown plot of land displaying nothing but dirt. If that’s you, don’t despair! You don’t have to miss out on the green season entirely. In fact, through Gordon Energy & Drainage, it’s possible to regain a green lawn in as little as two weeks!
One of the most popular seeding options we offer is the method of hydroseeding. If you’ve never seen this process before, it’s actually fascinating. Our team takes a mixture of seed, fertilizer, mulch, soil conditioner and tackfier and combines it with water in our hydroseeding equipment, which operates somewhat like a giant mixing bowl. When all of the materials are mixed, they form what is called a “slurry,” which we spray over the vacant ground. All that’s left is for you to watch and wait.
The slurry itself is actually what makes hydroseeding so effective, as it covers the area with a green mat of hydromulch. Because hydromulch retains 10 to 15 times its weight in water, it is able to keep grass seeds hydrated and ensure that they come up fast and full. This hydromulch also reduces the ability of wind, rain, birds and animals to carry away the seeds and fertilizer and helps maintain soil temperature, protecting seeds from extreme temperatures. It really is the lawn-care version of a magic carpet and one that could take you from seeing brown to seeing green in record time!
So, if you thought your chances at having a green property this season had already passed you by, think again! You could be just weeks away from a lush and healthy landscape. Contact Gordon Energy & Drainage today to find out whether or not hydroseeding is right for you!
